Uma possível explicação é esta: "I would say that they're in a different league," Peter Krusell, chairman of the Nobel economics committee and a former Princeton University professor, told AFP, commenting on how Chicago regularly trumps the Nobel competition. "Maybe they are more singularly focused on academic research, that's what I think personally. The professors there are not primarily public figures doing policy work. They're researchers that doggedly pursue ideas in a direction that maybe no one else is."
